Dream interpretation is not an ancient occupation that has no meaning in modern times, when several psychotherapists present their different methods of psychotherapy, promising you that you shall be fine and overcome all your problems if you only follow “three easy steps.”

It is not an old method that has been surpassed by quicker and easier methods today presented by many new psychotherapists.

First of all, there is no guaranteed method for any psychotherapy.

The unique method that can guarantee that you will not only overcome your problems for sure but will also acquire psychic health and wisdom in the end, instead of being dependent on a psychotherapy group for your entire life (after the first three easy steps…) is dream interpretation, by the method discovered by Carl Jung and improved by me, who continued his research.

It may be somewhat difficult in the beginning, just as when you try to learn a foreign language, but the compensation you have cannot be compared to anything. Balance, health, happiness, peace, love and wisdom for your entire life… Can it be compared to anything else?

After your depression, crazy thoughts and fears, you will be born again and start a new life in a totally different way.

You not only forever give up the marks of your sad experiences and traumas, but you’ll also be brilliant, self-secure, strong and wise.

This is guaranteed because the unconscious that sends you messages in dreams is a genius and knows everything about you and your life. It works like a private doctor that only cares for your specific problems and treats you everyday without interruption. A doctor you have for life, always at your disposition, but upon whom you will not depend because it helps you develop your own human conscience. It will help you become more intelligent until you become a genius.

The unconscious wisdom is certain because it is based on sanctity, which is real perfection.

However, the most important point of all is that you are completely safe following the unconscious, because craziness is a very dangerous enemy.

Who knows how safe you are while taking advice from a human doctor who ignores a lot about you and your life?

And how are you treated by a common doctor?

Does the doctor spend as much time with you as you require? Give you all the attention you need? Does the doctor help you at any time you need help? And does he or she help you entirely free of charge?

Only the wise and saintly unconscious is so good!

Depression is the condition in which you feel intense sadness, or despair that takes you towards isolation. You do not get the feeling or desire to interact socially or indulge yourself in some or the other activity. You start feeling low, gloomy and dejected all the time which results in severe depression or clinical depression. Feeling sad for no reason is said to be one of the main symptoms for depression.

Now, what is depression in the medical sense?

Depression is the disturbance in the human nervous system or brain functioning caused by some chemical imbalance. But here the question arises, how will you discover that you are suffering from depression?

Here are few of the symptoms:

1. Loss of appetite accompanied by weight loss or increased appetite accompanied by weight gain

2. Insomnia or excessive sleep

3. Loss of interest and concentration

4. Loss of sexual drive

5. Stamina loss or a strong feeling of fatigue

6. Lack of self-confidence

7. Loss of decision-making

8. Pessimism or negativity

9. Insecurities and fears

10. Suicidal thoughts

11. Loss of expression

12. Isolation or no social interaction

13. Guilty about the past

14. Irritability

15. Hypersensitivity

And if you feel that you are suffering from any five of the above symptoms, then you need to do something. There are many ways to get rid of depression like going for a consultant or psychiatrist, or some psychological treatments or therapies. But these treatments will prove to be effective only if you try to keep a positive attitude.

Why to go for a doctor when you can treat yourself on your own. You are your own doctor! Be positive in your life and try to gain the confidence from inside because we do not realize that we spend our whole life on searching for those things which are already inside us. So, got my point, my friends!

At the end of the day, you have to do something for yourself. Then why not start now only!

Everyone knows that major life changes - divorce, death, unemployment - can be stressful and lead to depression.

But not many realize that even positive life transitions, like starting a great new job or getting married, brings stresses that can lead to depression.

And even in really good times, a person will often become depressed.

When this feeling of being depressed threatens to overwhelm, professional counseling may help. A counselor, like a good friend, does not tell her client how to deal with depression. A good psychotherapist does specific, concrete things to help her client deal with the depression,

If you are depressed and don’t know why, maybe you’ll find some counseling tools that I’ve described below of help.

Cognitive and self-esteem therapy for depression, or understanding yourself

One young woman who moved from a close-knit rural community to Detroit to join a high-prestige job found the change difficult. She had moved away from all her family and friends, and her new job was demanding. Because she was unable to say no to her colleagues when they asked her to do extra work, and because she bent over backwards for her family, she frequently found herself saddled with far more work than she could handle.

When she entered therapy, she and her psychotherapy counselor focused on giving her the tools to say no to unreasonable demands so that she could stay more in control of her life. They did role-playing and rehearsed what it was like to say “no”, so she felt more comfortable with the idea and would be able to say “no” when the time came in real life.

Later, as the young client became more confident that whatever she said would be kept confidential, she was able to open up and they could work on her anxiety and depression.

This young woman realized that she had a pattern of neuroses throughout her life, and that she needed help figuring out who she was when all the pain was stripped away. What was left? Was she saying “yes” to all these demands in order to make up for what she feared was lacking on the inside?

Discovering the truth of the matter gave her confidence in her abilities. She was able to transform her anxiety into success personally and professionally.

Marriage and relationship therapy, or learning to get along

Sometimes it helps to remember that life is difficult. Just because we are having difficulties does not mean that we are failures. Understanding this is important in close relationships like a marriage.

A marriage will often start out with both partners happy, but when the demands of day-to-day life come up, and often unrealistic expectations have to give way to a more mature understanding.

One partner or both may become depressed when reality sinks in, But almost every marriage and every relationship can improve with the correct nurturing.

People in relationships can in fact get past this point and end up better for it.

An elderly couple in Cincinnati entered therapy when they had become stuck in a high-conflict pattern. They were always arguing. No matter what it was about, they could not seem to get along.

Because their family had moved away and many of their friends had also died recently, both partners were also depressed at the way their lives had ended up.

Therapy helped them look beyond their problems to the happy times they had shared. They accepted that any marriage needed to be constantly nurtured to be a happy marriage, and that they needed to keep nurturing their relationship even though they had been married many years and had “been there and done that.”

The result was a much more enriching and happy relationship, and less depression.

Counseling for gender-reassignment - building a network of support

Even changes which a person has been longing for may not be as fulfilling as expected when they come, and can actually be depressing.

Modern cognitive theory shows us that we tend to over-estimate the happiness that a major life change will bring us.

I can use an unusual example for this.

Some people feel they have been born into the wrong gender, and that there is a mismatch between their mental and physical gender. These are the people who are likely to opt for a gender change surgery as a permanent solution.

They will look forward to the surgery often for months. They will develop strong feelings that their lives will be much improved after the gender-change.

But they often find that the reality is not as good as they had expected.

They find the process of surgery is itself traumatizing.

There is a loss of family support, and it is not easy to find acceptance for the new identity. The loss of the old identity needs to be grieved over, and new forms of socializing learned.

They can get very depressed over this. Most people, with therapy to help them, can recover.

A psychotherapist can stand by people going through the gender reassignment trauma and help them rebuild a network of community support and their own lives.

This is one of many examples of how people can get depressed for periods in their lives, and some of the strategies for dealing with the depression.

Have you ever ate a really nutritious meal and felt uplifted, as if the meal took away your blues? The body is intelligent and will give you signs when it is not fed properly - depression being one of those signs.

The reason you feel better when you eat the right foods is that you are getting the proper balance of nutrients, vitamins and minerals. You are aiding the balance of neurotransmitters in the brain. Neurotransmitters are chemical messengers that send messages between the nerves and brain. For example, the chemical messenger serotonin is capable of elevating mood and self-esteem.

Someone who is depressed will often become locked into a destructive eating cycle, yet as soon as their body receives a good balance of foods, they will feel much better. The best way to break this cycle is to avoid unhealthy food and eat plenty of fresh fruit. Fruit contains sugar, so it satisfies cravings for sweets, and the body absorbs sugar so slowly that the gradual rise in your blood-sugar levels encourages a more consistent production of endorphins. This means the more fruit you eat, the longer you will feel happier.

Depression & Allergies

Food allergies can trigger depression. Allergies to food can upset levels of hormones and other key chemicals in the brain, resulting in symptoms of depression. The most common foods associated with allergies are cow’s milk, chocolate, wheat-gluten, oranges, eggs, peanuts and sugar. Dietary exclusion of the offending foods can help minimize depression and increase energy levels.

Planning a Diet for Depression

Omega-3 fatty acids have a strong anti-depression effect and are primarily found in salmon, mackerel, trout, sardines, flaxseed and walnuts. Spinach and kale contain omega 3 oils. Fatty acids are essential for the brain to function properly. Eating meals regularly can help minimize mood swings that are the result of low blood sugar levels. Try eating smaller meals and a healthy snack in between. This is also a great tip for weight loss.

Drink 1/2 ounces of water per pound of body weight m-i-n-i-m-u-m in a 24-hour period. So if you weigh 150 pounds, you need a minimum of 75 ounces of water daily.

Take vitamins during breakfast, especially B vitamins which are directly linked to the nervous system and mental function. Many minerals are linked to helping depression, such as calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc and selenium.

Complex carbohydrates like brown rice are actually the best route to a healthy blood sugar level and stable mood.

Boost your serotonin with amino acids. Serotonin is made in the body and brain from an amino acid 5-Hydroxy Tryptophan (5-HTP), which in turn in made from another amino acid called tryptophan. Tryptophan is in many protein rich foods such as meat, turkey, fish, beans and eggs. Balance your blood sugar. Refined sugar and refined carbohydrates (white bread, pasta, rice and most processed foods) is linked with depression. They supply little nutrients and use up the mood enhancing B vitamins.

Stay away from caffeine, sugar and alcohol. Alcohol is a depressant and will worsen your mood. Paying attention to what you eat is the first crucial step in fighting depression. Reversing nutritional deficiencies will remove stress on the hormone system and help prevent mood swings.

Bring your body back to it’s natural balance through healthy food choices.
